Summer Special Recipe: Cooling Sattvik Chana Chaat Salad

Bowl of cooling sattvik chana chaat salad garnished with sprouts

🥣 Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas (white/brown)
  • 1 large cucumber, diced
  • 2 medium tomatoes, deseeded & diced
  • ½ cup grated carrot
  • ½ cup raw green mango, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • ¼ cup pomegranate seeds (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh grated coconut (optional)

🌼 Sattvik Summer Dressing

  • Juice of ½–1 lemon (to taste)
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Pink Himalayan salt or rock salt, to taste

☀️ Sattvik Summer Benefits

  • 🥭 Raw Green Mango: Cools the body, rich in Vitamin C, and restores electrolytes lost in summer heat.
  • 🥒 Cucumber & Tomatoes: Provide deep hydration and natural cooling properties.
  • 🌿 Cumin & Coriander: Support gentle digestion, prevent bloating, and balance pitta.
  • 💪 Chickpeas: Packed with plant protein and fiber for long-lasting energy.

🍳 Method

  1. Combine Base: In a large bowl, add the cooked chickpeas, cucumber, tomatoes, carrot, green mango, coriander, pomegranate seeds, and grated coconut.
  2. Dress & Toss: Whisk the lemon juice, roasted cumin, black pepper, and pink salt together. Pour over the salad and toss gently to coat evenly.
  3. Infuse Flavors: Allow the chaat to rest for 5–10 minutes so the ingredients absorb the refreshing dressing.
  4. Garnish & Serve: Top with extra fresh coriander and coconut before serving chilled or at room temperature.
